Q. Can the tough button labels be removed from the buttons once they have been installed?
A. Yes. Although these are designed for permanent application, they can be removed. Once removed however, it should not be reinstalled on another button as the adhesion will not be sufficient.
Q. How long will these last on my camera?
A. Although your mileage may vary, the material / adhesive combination is designed to last up to 10 years in an outdoor scenario without shrinkage or delamination.
Q. If I remove these from my camera, will there be adhesive residue left over, if so how do I remove it?
A. When these are removed is very likely that there will be some adhesive residue left on the surface of the button since it is a permanent type of adhesive. We recommend the following process for removing it: 1) Use a small scrap piece that you cut off of the original material. Using the sticky side pushing down on top of the residue and pulling up several times. This will get the majority of the adhesive off. (Duct or electrical tape can also be used). 2) Use some household alcohol on a rag and firmly wipe until the adhesive is gone.
Q. Will cleaning, installing and removing these labels damage my cameras buttons?
A. We have tested installing, removing and cleaning cycles up to 50 times without any affect to the buttons or surface of the camera. We have tested various models from Canon, Sony and Panasonic, however, we have not tested every existing camera on the market for this and neither can we control manufacturer material / product changes or inconsistencies in quality. That being said, we will not be held liable for any damage, cosmetic or otherwise from the Nate's Tuff Buttons product itself, or the installation process recommended on our site, videos or in printed form.
